Quality Assurance Technician Full Time Vermillion, SD, US 8 days ago Requisition ID: 1100 GENERAL DESCRIPTION Utilizing the 7 QC tools and statistical analysis, lead root cause investigations on quality issues within fabricated and assembled equipment, including conveyors and material handling systems. Through data analysis and operator input, determine and establish best practices, then train and implement across all shifts. Work closely with Purchasing and suppliers to resolve component quality issues (motors, bearings, hydraulics, etc.). Verify and inspect manufactured and purchased products to ensure compliance with company quality standards, engineering drawings, and specifications. Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service teams to drive continuous quality improvements, corrective actions, and long-term product reliability in the field. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and communicate proper methods for inspection, testing, sampling, and training across fabrication and assembly processes. Evaluate production process capabilities and variation tendencies; implement effective process controls to ensure consistent product quality. Perform in-process and final inspections on fabricated weldments and assembled equipment to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards. Support welding quality through inspection of fit-up, weld integrity, and adherence to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Through random sampling and inspection, ensure purchased components meet required specifications; partner with suppliers to establish and maintain incoming quality standards and expectations. Utilize statistical analysis, root cause investigation, and daily inspection results to provide actionable feedback to Manufacturing and Engineering for quality improvements. Analyze service reports and customer feedback to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for product and process improvements. Continuously review and update quality procedures; recommend improvements to the Quality Assurance Manager. Develop and maintain a plant-wide calibration program to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and reliability of gauges, fixtures, welding equipment, and measurement devices. Maintain QA records, including data entry, tracking, and document control. Enhance and utilize the reject notice database for statistical and graphical analysis. Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager. All duties must be performed in compliance with company policies related to safety and housekeeping. REQUIREMENTS 2–4 year degree in a related field with 2+ years of quality control/quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment (fabrication or heavy equipment preferred). Strong understanding of quality tools, statistical analysis, and process control methods. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Experience with common measurement and testing equipment. Working knowledge of welding and fabrication processes preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with shop floor employees. Proficient computer skills, including data analysis and reporting. Ability to work in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, fumes, smoke, and other typical shop conditions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
