Role Description This full-time, on-site Physician Assistant Certified role is based in Williamsville, NY and supports neurosurgeons in providing high-quality, patient-centered care. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting patient histories and physical examinations, assisting in the evaluation and management of neurosurgical patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests under physician supervision. The Physician Assistant will participate in pre- and post-operative care, assist in procedures as appropriate, and contribute to care plans that align with evidence-based neurosurgical practices. Additional duties include collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, educating patients and families about conditions and treatment options, documenting in the medical record, and supporting quality improvement and clinical research activities when needed.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and eligibility for or possession of a valid New York State PA license.
  
• Experience or strong interest in neurosurgery, neurology, or a related surgical specialty, preferably in an academic or multidisciplinary setting.
  
• Demonstrated clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and patient management skills in inpatient and outpatient environments.
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and to educate patients and families.
  
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and participation in quality improvement or research initiatives.
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate documentation, and adhere to regulatory and institutional policies.
  
• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program; BLS and ACLS certification required or obtainable within a defined timeframe. xhyhwjd
  
• Flexibility to participate in call coverage, extended hours, or weekend duties as needed to support neurosurgical patient care.
