About the Position

Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Profession: SLP Specialty: Speech Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 1 year(s) License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification, CCC-SLP Must-Have: Competence in VFSS (video fluoroscopic swallow study) Description: Department operates with a 37-hour guarantee. The unit treats 8 to 10 patients per day. Three SLPs work per day. Common diagnoses include stroke, pneumonia, and sepsis. Settings include acute inpatient and acute rehabilitation. Coverage areas include ICU, acute tower, and rehabilitation unit. Time is shared equally between acute inpatient and acute rehab. May float to a nearby facility approximately 30 minutes away. Preferred candidates have experience in acute care and some rehabilitation unit experience. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. A manager is available on each shift. Rehab aides are staffed in the department. Shifts are structured as four 10-hour shifts, typically from 0730 to 1800. Travelers may be scheduled to work Friday through Monday, but this may vary for vacation coverage. Travelers are required to cover weekends and holidays as needed. Scrubs are permitted but must not match the colors of other departments. Travelers should anticipate working five eight-hour shifts to accommodate the onboarding schedule. Candidates must reside outside of a 50-mile radius from the facility.
