Compounding Manager

The Compounding Manager oversees all compounding operations within the plant, ensuring accurate preparation of liquid batches, adherence to safety and quality standards, and efficient coordination with production and packaging teams. This role is responsible for supervising compounding staff, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement in processes and productivity.
- Lead daily compounding activities, ensuring accurate formulation and mixing of raw materials.
- Oversee batch preparation, documentation, and transfer to filling lines.
- Monitor inventory of raw materials and coordinate with procurement to ensure availability.
- Ensure compounding schedules align with production demands and customer requirements.
- Enforce OSHA, EPA, GMP, and ISO standards within compounding operations.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with environmental permits and internal EHS programs.
- Partner with Quality Control to ensure batches meet specifications before release.
- Review and approve batch records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Implement corrective actions for deviations and drive continuous improvement in compounding processes.
- Support validation of new formulations and process changes.
- Supervise and train compounding operators and technicians.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Lead process optimization projects, including equipment upgrades and automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to enhance plant performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5–8+ years of experience in compounding, chemical manufacturing, or liquid filling operations.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, ISO, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams in a production environment.
- Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
