Mental Health Technician

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Technician position include working on the Male Unit in a full-time capacity with 8-hour shifts on weekdays (M-F) and 12-hour shifts every other weekend. There are very limited openings available for August to September 2026. Candidates must have availability to attend an 8-business day orientation from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. without interruptions.

Hill Crest Behavioral Health Services is a robust, free-standing psychiatric hospital offering dedicated services to adolescents and adults from the surrounding Birmingham community. With an average census of 150 patients, Hill Crest features acute inpatient, residential, and group home settings.

Qualifications for the position include a verifiable high school diploma or GED, one year of experience in a psychiatric setting/patient care preferred, ability to obtain CPR certification and non-violent crisis prevention certification (company will train), and availability to attend an 8-business day orientation from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. without interruptions.
