Role Summary

Hiring 4 Project Managers ASAP to run complex electromechanical equipment projects for large hydropower plants, from handover through closeout. There are two levels: Senior Project Manager (salary midpoint $143K) and Project Manager (salary midpoint $112K), plus a bonus. The manager cares more about disciplined, systematic project management than hydro or software experience. Main filters: large project scope, a heavy manufacturing or industrial background, owning the schedule, contract and cost control, and a stable work history. Candidates must be in York, PA or willing to relocate.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead projects through engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, transportation, and field service (install, commission, close out)
• Own project P&L: set the budget, monitor, and forecast profitability
• Review bids and contracts; make sure execution complies with the contract
• Build and maintain the project schedule; line up POs with schedule milestones
• Run change, claims, and risk/opportunity management with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Lead the cross-functional team; push vendors and subs to deliver
• Own project documentation
• Support Sales and Account Managers on customer relationships

Must-Have Qualifications

• Has managed large, complex projects (ideally $50M-$400M; about $10M contracts OK if running several at once)
• Heavy manufacturing or complex industrial project background (mining, oil and gas, heavy manufacturing, etc.)
• Has built, managed, and maintained project schedules
• Understands project costs and commercial terms; has reviewed or administered contracts
• Understands contractual T&Cs
• Has managed several projects at the same time (the role can carry around 8)
• Has managed and pushed subcontractors and vendors
• Based in York, PA or willing to relocate; able to work 3 days onsite

Preferred Qualifications

• Hydropower or power generation experience
• SAP, ECTR, or Primavera experience
• Knowledge of casting, forging, welding, machining, and assembly
• Can read mechanical drawings and BOMs
• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Controls, Chemical, Civil)
• About 5+ years tenure at a past employer

Knockout Factors

• Not in York, PA and not willing to relocate
• Can't commit to 3 days onsite
• No experience managing large or complex projects
• Has never owned or maintained a project schedule
• No industrial, manufacturing, or complex project environment experience

• PM or Senior PM from heavy manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, or EPC/capital equipment
• Owned the project P&L and the schedule end to end, including commercial and contract work
• Ran several projects at once and can talk through how they prioritized
• Holds vendors and subs accountable; can give examples of recovering a slipping schedule
• Long, steady tenure at each employer
• Systematic, structured, and driven; asks about learning the technical side
• Local to York or has a concrete relocation plan

Weak Candidate Signals

• Frequent job changes or many short tenures
• "Project manager " title, but the work was coordination or admin with no budget or schedule ownership
• Only software, IT, or marketing project experience with no industrial or physical product work
• Can't name the size of past projects or describe the commercial terms they managed
