Copy Editor (Hybrid) – Job at Cella Inc. Location: Los Angeles, CA. Job Type: Contract. Compensation Range: $30.00 - $34.49 per hour. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Copy Editor to join our dynamic marketing team. In this key role, you’ll be responsible for reviewing a wide range of marketing materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and the highest standards of quality. You’ll work closely with multiple internal teams to manage content-related projects, maintain editorial consistency, and keep deliverables on schedule. Working onsite in Los Angeles on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays initially, then Monday‑Thursday starting September8,2025. Responsibilities Copy edits and proofreads print and electronic materials for clarity, grammar, accuracy, consistency, style and tone, as well as disclosure requirements. Verifies statistics and facts against internal and external sources. Recommends edits based on knowledge of the target audience and internal and external style guides. Updates or identifies changes to information in materials that require quarterly or annual updates, including but not limited to statistical information and changes in investment and risk disclosures. Utilizes appropriate tool(s) to ensure updates are displayed correctly on all applicable web/digital pages. Edits and abridges content to fit sizing requirements as necessary. Ensures materials are error‑free. Monitors, tracks, and incorporates all compliance language updates to ensure materials comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Determines impact on existing materials when compliance language is added or changed. Understands and applies required disclosure language across all collateral and channels. Monitors existing editing tools and resources, such as the AP Stylebook, the Chicago Manual of Style, and internal sites and systems. Stays informed of and incorporates style guide changes to maintain consistency of tone and style across communications. Demonstrates sound judgment when resolving matters of moderate complexity. Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills, with strong grammar and syntax skills. In-depth knowledge of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and style guides, able to apply that knowledge to work assignments; follows Chicago and AP styles. Ability to work in a team environment and across broad, diverse groups; strong interpersonal skills. Ability to follow production schedules, track deliverables, solve problems, and elevate issues as appropriate. Strong attention to detail, process orientation, organizational and multitasking skills; proven ability to manage an unpredictable workload and meet established deadlines. Working knowledge of financial and investment concepts. At least 3‑5 years of copyediting experience. Experience in financial, pharmaceutical, or medical environments is strongly preferred.
