Shop Foreman – Automotive Repair

TLC Auto & Truck Repair Center – Farmingdale, NY

Lead. Mentor. Produce.

TLC Auto & Truck Repair Center is looking for an experienced Automotive Shop Foreman to lead our technician team while remaining hands-on in the shop. If you're a highly skilled technician with leadership experience who enjoys mentoring others, improving shop efficiency, and ensuring repairs are completed right the first time, we'd love to meet you.

This is a leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performing environment and takes pride in quality workmanship.

Salary expectations $70,000 plus commission total compensation $150,000

What You'll Do

• Lead and support a team of automotive technicians.
• Assist technicians with advanced diagnostics and difficult repairs.
• Ensure repairs are completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
• Perform final quality control inspections before vehicle delivery.
• Mentor and train technicians to improve productivity and technical skills.
• Coordinate workflow with the Shop Manager and Service Advisors.
• Prioritize work based on customer needs, technician skill level, and shop capacity.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
• Monitor technician productivity and help maximize billed hours.
• Assist with comebacks and ensure root causes are identified and corrected.
• Ensure proper documentation and repair procedures are followed.
• Stay current on new vehicle technology and repair procedures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional automotive repair experience.
• Previous leadership or foreman experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with European and diesel vehicles is highly preferred.
• Diesel, medium-duty truck, and fleet experience is a plus.
• ASE Certifications are preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to motivate and coach technicians while maintaining accountability.
• Comfortable using shop management software (Tekmetric experience is a plus).
