Our School Based camp, serves youthtobuild relationships, try new things, make memories, and ensure camper safety all while having fun and acting as positive role models.We strive to build supportive and empowering teams to help all team members show up as their best and most authentic selves, so that you can learn,growand thrive during your tenure at the Y. Leaders will be assigned to a unit/group of same-age campers that best fits their preferences,experiencesand the needs of the camp.They will work with fellow counselors to manage campers,facilitateand participate in camp activities,andbuildvaluablepeer to peerconnections. Responsibilities: Build positive nurturing relationships with campers Build cooperative relationships with coworkers,supervisorsand parents Lead andparticipatein a variety of camp activities – arts & crafts, STEM, active games and more Engage positively in camp life in a variety of weather and locations – indoors, outside, aquatics area, in the rain,summerheat, andbeyond! Engage with campers in a way that fosters Character building Uphold the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Courage Qualifications: Experience working or volunteering with youth in arecreation, or similar setting, preferred Must be willing and able to obtain CPR & First Aid Certifications, or currently hold Must be available to attend camp trainings before andthroughoutcamp season Able to bring a patient, caring, responsible,flexibleand positive attitude to work Position Specifics: Camp season runs 06/22/26 through 08/28/26 and must be able to workmost ofthe camp weeks Year-round employment opportunities are available with the YMCA.We encourage you to join our dynamic summer team, and support youth in creating a great summer camp experience!
