Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor Ontic is a leading global aerospace Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) trusted by the world’s aviation leaders. Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing Inc. is currently looking for a Production Supervisor who reports to the Cell Manager and will have an onsite work structure for its operations center in Creedmoor, NC. Ontic is engaged primarily in electro‑mechanical assemblies for the aerospace industry including general aviation, commercial and military applications. Schedule Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (10‑hour shifts). Qualifications Associate’s degree (high school diploma with 5yrs experience leading in a manufacturing environment) or equivalent military training required. Six Sigma experience, proficient at RCCA (root cause and corrective action). Demonstrate knowledge of business processes – POE, QMS, sales file, MRB, RMA's. Able to provide clear and effective verbal communication to management level. Proven ability to initiate and execute change into mature processes. Mechanically inclined and understands production fabrication and assembly. Experience with Epicor (preferred but not essential). Deep firsthand knowledge of manufacturing operations, the ability to provide real‑time shop support with solid troubleshooting skills leading to consistent production and quality. Must be able to pass background check and drug screening. Would be able to support a shift pattern (weekends, 2nd shift potential) to meet the needs of the business if implemented at any point. Responsibilities Maintain a safe and well‑organized manufacturing area. Assign tasks and manage workload to meet or exceed daily production output targets, inclusive of developing technician shift schedules and overtime management. Lead regular cell‑level team meetings. Provide effective daily manufacturing progress communications to the team and all management levels. Develop and own production cell performance KPIs. Analyze cell performance to identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain high product quality levels. Identify continuous improvement opportunities. Complete and maintain all required documentation and records accurately and in a timely manner, and maintain a skills matrix which proactively identifies “single points of failure” and actioning development, training and recruitment plans accordingly. Lead the management of assigned production cell employees, including appraisal, sickness absence and performance management. Ensure compliance with applicable QMS procedures and effective NCR management. Ensure that operators are trained for the work being performed. Assess team competency and hold team members accountable. Stand in for the Cell/Production Manager as required. Optimize labor utilization and justify overtime. Lead continuous improvement events. Maintain high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction. Demonstrate visible enthusiasm, collaboration, drive and a can‑do attitude. Manage and coach team leaders.
