Staff Accountant

Job Overview: ZenaTech, Inc. is hiring an Accountant responsible for maintaining and analyzing an organization's financial records. The candidate should be experienced with Deltek VantagePoint – this is mandatory for the role. They will handle essential accounting functions, such as preparing financial statements, managing budgets, reconciling accounts, and assisting the CFO with financial reporting needs. They will ensure consistency of financial records across our platform companies, accuracy, compliance with regulations, and support in the decision‑making processes. Key Responsibilities: Oversee monthly bookkeeping for multiple companies using Deltek Vantagepoint. Oversee the creation and maintenance of accurate customer and vendor records within the accounting system. Oversee bank/credit card reconciliations, AP, AR, and payroll entries. Approve vendor invoices for payment and/or processing payments. Drive month‑end close activities, review monthly financial reports for accuracy and tax readiness, general ledger reconciliations – as well as intercompany reconciliations. Keep company records, SOPs, and internal notes up to date. Assist the CFO and the finance team with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits. Act as a liaison between acquired companies and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution. Other responsibilities within the Accounting and Finance Team. Qualifications: Proficiency with ERP and reporting systems: Deltek VantagePoint (mandatory) Having minimum 3‑5 years of experience in bookkeeping, finance, and accounting roles. Experience with a Professional Employer Organization (PEO): Insperity (Preferred) Thorough understanding of GAAP and internal control procedures. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience directly related to the position. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in finance and operational tasks. Effective time‑management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with colleagues. Ability to prioritize, work independently, take initiative, and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision. Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in response to evolving priorities and constructive feedback.
