Senior Pastor

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF WEST ALBUQUERQUE
First Baptist Church of West Albuquerque is seeking a Senior Pastor who demonstrates a clear calling from God and meets the biblical qualifications for an elder/overseer as given in 1Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5–9; 1 Peter 5:1–4; Acts 20:28; and Ephesians 4:11-13.  We seek a pastor who loves Christ deeply and demonstrates a genuine love for His church through humble, faithful shepherding.

Biblical Qualifications

Candidates should demonstrate a life consistent with Scripture, including:
·       Characterized by integrity and godly character; above reproach in personal life and public witness
·       Faithfulness in marriage and healthy leadership within the home
·       Self-controlled, disciplined, hospitable, and wise
·       Able to teach, sound in doctrine and able to encourage and protect the church from false teaching
·       Not quarrelsome, arrogant, or given to destructive habits
·       Evidences a sincere love for God and His church through humble servant leadership modeled after Christ

First West is a Baptist congregation that deeply values traditional Baptist beliefs like baptism by immersion and the autonomy of the local church. First West is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, and as such we cooperate with other like-minded Southern Baptist churches in sending missionaries and church planters around the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our beliefs are consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). We believe that every word of Holy Scripture,
contained in both the Old and New Testaments, has been inspired and superintended by God Himself, through the Holy Spirit and is without any mixture of error. Located on the West side of Albuquerque, the most populous city in New Mexico, our fellowship is a multi-generational family of believers bound by our love for God and committed to glorifying Him by making disciples of Jesus Christ. We love our Savior, cherish our church family, and have a deep burden for those who are still separated from Christ. We desire to be known for faithfully proclaiming God’s Word, our genuine fellowship, and equipping believers to live as His witnesses wherever He sends them. We are praying for the pastor who will join us in all God has planned for the next part of FBCWA’s journey.
