Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with strong robotics and vascular experience for a Level II Trauma Center operating room position.

Details

Hospital surgical services department performing 60-70 cases per day

Busiest service lines include Ortho, Neuro, General/Trauma, Vascular, GYN/Uro, and Robotics

Robotic Center of Excellence deploying 3 Da Vinci Xi and 2 DV5 robots

Most common vascular cases include AAA, carotid, and femoral procedures requiring immediate mastery

Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM

On-call requirement of four 8-hour shifts per 4-week cycle

No floating within facility or to sister facilities required

Common equipment includes Doppler, ultrasound, Neptune, Aquamantis, video systems, lasers, various stapling systems, and Hana and Jackson tables

Epic EMR used for charting, experience preferred but not required

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist

CST certification required (NBSTSA or NCCT from an accredited program)

BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

Level II Trauma experience required, Level I preferred

Strong proficiency in robotics and vascular surgery required for consideration

Must be comfortable in a busy Level 2 Trauma environment

Strong eye, AAA, and craniotomy experience required

Must be able to scrub without a sales rep for knees, hips, and ideally shoulders

Experience with eye procedures including vitrectomies, scleral buckles, retina, and cataracts required

Experience with general, ortho, and neuro trauma, basic urology, and major vascular (AAA) procedures required

Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted

License required if applicable

Short-term acute care facility with 385 total staffed beds and Level II Trauma Center designation

Scrubs provided by the facility

Free parking available

Candidates must be willing to float within the broader health system as operationally necessary

Travelers may occasionally float to a sister facility when needed

Local candidates are not accepted, and local radius is defined as within 60 miles of the facility

Previous employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration

Proof of state license application required if license is not yet in hand, with possible start date delay of up to 8 weeks for licensure processing
