Our client is a large tier-1 automotive supplier with manufacturing locations across North America. They have a manufacturing facility north of Dayton, OH where they employee over 800 full-time employees. The current opening is for an R&D / Design Engineer. Main duties include:

• Design and development of new model parts, weld fixtures
• Prototype development
• Evaluate new technology, attend trade shows, supplier conferences
• Evaluate current mass production systems and advise on new technology
• Support installation and perform inspections of new model fixturing on weld lines

Qualifications include:

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Prior work experience with 3D CAD, preferably Catia V5
• Prior work experience with DOE (Design of Experiments)
• Innovative, analytical, critical thinker
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• The ability to be hands-on when necessary
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
