Security Campus Lead Campus Security MonitorMinimum starting salary rate: $18.11 per hourPosition: Security CampusAssignment: Lead Campus Security Monitor Wage/Hour Status: Non-exemptReports to: PrincipalPrimary PurposeProvide excellent customer service to the campus and the district by providing technical support to LISD administrators, campus staff, School Resource Officers (SRO) and law enforcement agencies and Security Guards in a timely, thorough, and professional manner. Support is provided for computers, mobile devices, software and other safety and security systems as reported in support tickets and other notifications.QualificationsMinimum Education/CertificationAccredited High School Diploma or GEDSpecial Knowledge/Skills/ExperienceThree to five years of experience in security preferredAbility to communicate in English, Spanish a plusAbility to maintain emotional control under stressAbility to operate and maintain facility security equipmentAbility to write clear and concise reports related to incidentsAbility to deal sensitively and fairly with people from diverse cultural backgroundsAbility to interact effectivity with students, staff, parents, and community membersAbility to ensure a secure and confidential environmentMajor Responsibilities and DutiesProvide prevention and detection of criminal activity and safety hazards; enforce traffic, parking, and other district regulations; and provide overall assistance to faculty, staff, or campus community; observe and report any violations or securityPerform patrols to cover facility and property for unauthorized entry and to ensure that facility is properly secured.Regulate bus loading and unloadingAssist campus administration and first responders during drills and real incidentsAssist School Resource Officer, when necessaryCheck IDs of student arriving, if applicable.Immediately report all unusual incidents of criminal activity to campus and district administrationAbility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays; no shifts/post locations are permanentEnsure classroom doors are locked, if applicableEnsure visitors check-in at front office.Perform other tasks and duties as assignedMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsDistrict vehicle, two-way radio, alarm system and other security equipment, fire extinguisher, and standard office equipment including computer and peripheralsProlonged sitting and standingStrenuous walking and climbing stairs; occasional keyboarding and use of mouse, moderate drivingModerate lifting and carrying (15–44 pounds)Work inside and outside (moderate exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); moderate exposure to noise and vehicle exhaust; frequent districtwide travel.Specific hearing and visual requirements; may be subject to adverse and hazardous working conditions, including violent and armed confrontations; ability to control sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.Maintain emotional control under stress; prolonged hours; on call 24 hours a dayOther: All employees are to follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.The foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.
