Overview KREX-TV, located in Grand Junction, Colorado, is seeking an immediate, full‑time meteorologist to serve Monday–Friday weather duties. The role involves producing content for television, digital and social media platforms. Responsibilities Produce and present on‑air weather segments engaging news consumers. Utilize social media to post weather content that captures viewer interest. Write web stories providing daily local forecasts. Ensure all weather content adheres to company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. Assist in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating weather programming. Respond to breaking or severe weather events and other urgent newsroom situations. Participate in promotional activities, including public appearances. Execute special projects and other duties as assigned. Requirements & Skills Bachelor’s degree in meteorology, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Fluency in English. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to ad lib when required. Proficiency with weather computer systems. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong listening skills and capacity to collaborate on solutions. Deep understanding of meteorology and a proven forecasting track record. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Flexibility to work any shift.
