NOW HIRING: APPLIANCE REPAIR TECHNICIAN

Tidewater Appliance is looking for a dependable, skilled Appliance Repair Technician to join our team.

We are looking for someone with previous appliance repair experience who is mechanically inclined, enjoys troubleshooting, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can work independently.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose and repair residential appliances, including refrigerators, ranges, ovens, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and other major household appliances.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and electronic appliance problems.
• Accurately identify the cause of appliance failures and determine the appropriate repair.
• Perform appliance installations, adjustments, and component replacements when needed.
• Use diagnostic tools, meters, manufacturer information, and technical documentation to identify problems.
• Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, parts used, and customer concerns.
• Explain appliance problems and recommended repairs to customers in a clear and professional manner.
• Provide customers with accurate information regarding repair options, parts, labor, and expected completion times.
• Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Properly handle and protect customers' property while performing service work in their homes.
• Communicate promptly with the service department regarding delays, additional parts needed, return visits, or other issues.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct while representing Tidewater Appliance.
• Complete other duties related to appliance service and repair as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous appliance repair experience required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to diagnose problems and determine appropriate solutions.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits, wiring, motors, pumps, valves, controls, and other appliance components.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service information.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a professional attitude.
• Must be able to safely lift, move, and maneuver appliances with assistance when required.
• Must be willing to continue learning new appliance technologies and manufacturer-specific repair procedures.
• Must pass criminal background and drug screening.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift and move appliances and appliance components safely.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb stairs, and work in confined areas.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, meters, and other service equipment.
• Ability to safely enter and work in customers' homes.
