This production role focuses on setting up, operating, and cleaning machines used to mix, blend, or agglomerate food-grade chemicals, liquids, and materials. You will monitor production parameters, handle raw material reception and sampling, manage waste according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and move product using a manual pallet jack. The position involves weighing products before they are moved to the warehouse, reading and recording digital weights on a small scale, and consistently handling filled bags that can weigh up to 50 pounds. You will also push and pull large bowls on wheels weighing up to 1,000 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks throughout your shift in a food manufacturing environment that prioritizes safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

• Set up, operate, and clean production machines that mix, blend, or agglomerate food-grade chemicals, liquids, and materials.
• Monitor production parameters and ensure processes follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Handle raw material reception, including receiving, sampling, and documenting materials as required.
• Manage production waste safely and in accordance with SOPs and facility guidelines.
• Move product and materials using a manual pallet jack throughout the production area.
• Weigh finished product prior to transfer to the warehouse and accurately record weights using a digital scale.
• Read and record digital weights on small scales with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Lift and move filled bags of product that can weigh up to 50 pounds, requesting assistance for heavier loads in line with company policy.
• Push and pull large bowls on wheels weighing up to 1,000 pounds, moving at least eight bowls per shift.
• Lift bags of product above head on a consistent basis as part of normal production activities.
• Operate and control a production control panel and related equipment, similar to using a smartphone interface.
• Perform basic math calculations to support measurements, weights, and production adjustments.
• Multi-task across different production activities while maintaining focus on safety and quality.
• Climb ladders and go up and down stairs as needed to access equipment and materials.
• Work safely with food-grade chemicals, following all safety and GMP requirements.
• Ask for help when needed to ensure safe handling of materials and compliance with safety policies.
• Participate in training to operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts and apply that training in daily work.
• Adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including facility rules on personal items and hygiene.
• Attend and complete on-site orientation and follow all instructions provided regarding shift start and work procedures.

• Ability to perform heavy lifting and safely handle materials up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Capability to push and pull heavy equipment and bowls weighing up to 1,000 pounds on wheels.
• Comfort with lifting bags of product above head consistently during the shift.
• Basic math skills to perform measurements, weight calculations, and simple numeric tasks.
• Ability to multi-task and manage several production activities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
• Competence in running and controlling a control panel, with comfort using interfaces similar to a smartphone.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new processes and equipment.
• Comfort with climbing ladders and using stairs frequently in a production environment.
• Comfort working around and with food-grade chemicals while following safety procedures.
• Willingness to ask for help when needed to ensure safety and compliance with company policies.
• Experience in a general labor, construction, manufacturing, or similar general labor environment within the last 5 years.
• At least 1 year of continuous employment with the same company within the last 5 years.
• Ability to stand for up to 812 hours per shift in a physically demanding environment.

• Background in production, production line work, or general production activities.
• Experience in general labor roles such as construction, manufacturing, assembly, or packaging.
• Exposure to food production, food manufacturing, or working in facilities that handle food products.
• Machine operation experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
• Willingness to be trained on operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
• Ability to follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

The role is based in a small-town, family-style facility with approximately 30 full-time employees, fostering a close, collaborative atmosphere. Safety and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are central to daily operations, and all employees must follow established safety rules and procedures. The dress code requires steel-toed boots, hair net, eye protection, jeans, shirt, bump cap, and lab coat. Employees must comply with GMP-related restrictions, including no smoking or tobacco products on-site, no perfume or cologne, no fingernail polish, no jewelry of any kind, and no piercings. All clothing must be free of rips, tears, holes, or added embellishments. The manufacturing environment can be warm, with some rooms reaching up to 90 degrees in the summer, while conditions are comfortable in the winter. Shifts involve standing for 812 hours and performing physically demanding tasks. New hires complete an on-site orientation lasting 34 hours, and depending on shift scheduling, may begin work the same day or at a later time, with this information communicated in advance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albert Lea, MN.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Albert Lea,MN.
