Unit Capacity: 42 Beds

Staffing: 103 Staff Members

Day Shift: 1 CNC, 1 Transport RN, RNs (dependent on census and acuity), 1 Unit Secretary, 1-2 Unit Techs (dependent on census)
Night Shift: 1 CNC, 1 Transport RN, RNs (dependent on census and acuity), 1 Unit Secretary, 1-2 Unit Techs (dependent on census)

Typical Hiring Profile

Essential Skills: Candidates must possess the following skills to be considered for the role:

Safe medication administration, including dosage calculation
Administer medications and expressed breast milk (EBM) using the 5 rights of medication administration
Appropriate handling of expressed breast milk
Care for patients with NG/OG tubes and follow feeding orders from OT/ST
Experience caring for patients on CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and Nasal Cannula
Competence in caring for patients with PIVs, PICCs, UACs, and UVCs
Ability to safely care for patients 22 weeks and older
Understanding of NICU equipment
Promotion of safe sleep practices for infants at 32-34 weeks gestation
Demonstration of developmentally appropriate care for preterm infants
Proficiency in lab draws
Knowledge of NAS scoring

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with the following experiences will be given priority:

Experience with endotracheal tubes (ETTs), ventilators, JETs, cooling methods, and surgical patients
