Job Title: Quality Control Inspector / Lead Job Description

The Quality Control Inspector / Lead oversees inspection activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and ensures products consistently meet high-quality standards. This role performs first article and final inspections, manages calibration programs for measuring equipment, leads inspection personnel across multiple shifts, and actively supports continuous quality improvement initiatives throughout production.

• Perform first article inspections and final inspections on manufactured products to verify conformance to engineering specifications and quality standards.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to guide inspection activities and ensure accurate measurements.
• Manage and maintain the calibration program for inspection and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of all tools used.
• Inspect employee measuring tools regularly and maintain detailed calibration records within Net-Inspect or similar documentation systems.
• Track and document tools that pass or fail calibration requirements, and ensure nonconforming tools are identified and removed from use.
• Lead and coordinate the daily activities of quality inspectors across both shifts, providing direction, support, and oversight.
• Communicate and collaborate with swing shift inspectors to ensure continuity of inspection processes and consistent quality between shifts.
• Work closely with production leadership to maintain product quality, support manufacturing goals, and resolve quality-related issues.
• Assist quality assurance functions with root cause analysis and corrective action activities to address nonconformances and prevent recurrence.
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and contribute to decisions on nonconforming materials and components.
• Help identify opportunities to mistake-proof processes and implement improvements that reduce defects and recurring quality issues.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback from inspection activities and recommending enhancements to procedures and standards.
• Use visual inspection techniques and precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, squares, protractors, bore gauges, and go/no-go thread gauges to verify product quality.
• Document inspection results clearly and accurately to support traceability, audits, and ongoing quality assurance activities.

• Experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication or similar production settings.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong knowledge of calibration processes and inspection documentation, including maintaining calibration records and tracking tool status.
• Hands-on experience using quality inspection and measuring equipment such as calipers, squares, protractors, micrometers, bore gauges, and go/no-go thread gauges.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple inspections, records, and calibration activities.
• Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to direct, coordinate, and support inspection teams across different shifts.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with quality, production, and other operational teams.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with visual inspection and mechanical evaluation of products.

• Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing quality environments.
• Familiarity with Net-Inspect software or similar quality and calibration documentation systems.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies used in quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• Background in quality control, quality assurance, or production support within manufacturing or the food industry.
• Understanding of mechanical principles related to metal fabrication and precision measurement.
• Ability to contribute to mistake-proofing initiatives and process improvements that enhance overall product quality.

The role is based in a manufacturing setting with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and moving equipment. Noise levels range from moderate to high, reflecting a busy production floor. You will work in a fast-paced, hands-on metal fabrication environment that relies heavily on precision measuring tools and inspection equipment. The position involves regular interaction with production areas, machinery, and inspection stations, requiring a focus on safety, situational awareness, and adherence to established operational procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moxee, WA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
