Advanced Lpn Clinic Float | Licensed Practical Nurse

This role supports physicians and mid-level providers by delivering patient assessments, treatments, testing, and education with professionalism and attention to detail.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection prevention and safe patient handling.
• Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as prescribed.
• Assist providers during procedures, maintaining sterile fields and managing instruments.
• Support examinations within the scope of licensure and perform phone triage.
• Serve as a liaison between providers and patients, communicating test results and addressing patient inquiries.
• Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs, height, and weight.
• Manage and update patient medication lists and summaries.
• Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
• Educate patients and guardians on electronic health record tools and provide supportive teaching.
• Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, securing necessary precertifications and authorizations.
• Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols.
• Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, teamwork, and maintain excellent attendance.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program and completion of an approved IV therapy course.

Experience

Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Certification And License

Current LPN license valid in the respective state and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification are required.

Mental And Physical Requirements

This position demands considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Exposure to infectious and communicable diseases is frequent, along with occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
