The Work You Will Do: Materials Coordinator-Database App/Engineering & Ops/State Highway Engineer/Office of Materials/Program Performance and Compliance This position is a part of the Database and Information team and performs a variety of functions related to database development, application maintenance, report writing and data analysis. You will provide technical support for the Materials Acceptance and Certification system (MAC) and other State Materials Office databases and applications. The position also supports the maintenance of the State Materials Office Website and SharePoint sites. Where You Will Work: State Materials Office, 5007 NE 39th Ave., Gainesville, FL 32609 Annual Salary Range: $56,036.33 - $72,517.60 Your Specific Responsibilities: Conducts all database activities for the Database and Information Systems Section and assists as needed with other State Materials Office Sections. Programs and maintains Materials Acceptance and Certification (MAC) specifications and protocol for all materials related items. Troubleshoots all materials related problems encountered by users associated with MAC and other related databases. Monitors materials related performance in MAC and other related databases. Assists with all necessary modifications, updates, and enhancements for database functions. Designs, deploys, and maintains the State Materials Office on-line resources for the purpose of disseminating information on program activities. Functions as Web Master for the State Materials Office internet website, the Office of Materials Intranet Web Site and SharePoint Sites. Maintain the content, working links, graphic design, and site layout. Extracts data from appropriate construction, materials, and pavement management databases for reporting and analysis purposes. Performs detailed statistical analyses on existing materials testing data and applies engineering judgement to formulate findings and conclusions. Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and conclusions. Provides background documentation of database applications for long-term maintenance efforts. Provides concise workflow explanations for user navigation of database workspace and reporting activities. Ensures that all assignments/projects are completed. Reviews and maintains service desk tickets for the Materials Acceptance and Certification applications. Directs tickets to appropriate personnel as needed. Designs, deploys, and maintains materials related Customer Satisfaction Surveys as needed to effectively measure the performance of the statewide Materials function. Tracks incoming statistical data and provides reports to managers of the Materials function once surveys are completed. Coordinates the resolution of customer complaints. Assists State Materials Office Management with interpretation of written responses and provides responses to participants of survey. The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: Concepts, terminology, principles, and analytical techniques related to construction materials. Construction materials specifications. Statistics, data analysis principles, and methods of data collection.. Customer surveys and methodology Skills in: Collection, evaluation and analyzing data to develop recommendations to solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to improvement of management practices Ability to: Organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written or video formats. Use Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, Work, Access, and PowerPoint. Communicate engineering information effectively. Plan, organize, and complete multiple work assignments simultaneously Work as a team member. Work independently. Licensure/Registration/Certification Requirements: None Other Job-Related Requirements: This position must respond before, during, and after emergency situations. Minimum Qualifications: Prior experience operating a personal computer for word processing, spreadsheet, and/or database applications. Prior experience or education developing and/or maintaining websites. High school graduate or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
