Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position, consisting of 3x12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, with occasional shifts from 15:00 to 03:00 as needed. Up to every other weekend and holiday coverage is required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department will provide comprehensive nursing care across all age groups, focusing on special care populations including cancer, sepsis, medical emergencies, and behavioral health. The hospital specialties include a cath lab, women's health, and stroke care while experiencing a wide variety of patient diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide care for critically ill patients.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform BiPAP/CPAP management and care for ventilated patients.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, EKGs, and blood gas results.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications are required.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
• Prior experience with STEMI and stroke facility protocols is necessary.
