Quality Engineer – Food ManufacturingA growing food manufacturer in the Hillsborough area is hiring a Quality Engineer to provide hands-on quality leadership across production, packaging and sanitation operations.This is a floor-focused role for someone who can identify quality issues, work effectively with Production and help maintain strong food-safety and product-quality standards. It could be a fit for a current Quality Engineer or someone coming from a strong QA Lead, Supervisor or Specialist background.Schedule flexibility is an asset as the plant runs 24/7.What You'll DoServe as an on-shift quality resource for production and operational teamsMonitor GMPs, hygiene practices, process controls, CCPs and quality standardsOversee in-process checks, finished-product testing and environmental monitoringConduct routine GMP, sanitation and process auditsSupport the site Quality Management System and maintain accurate, audit-ready documentationInvestigate nonconformances, process deviations and product-quality issuesAssist with root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actionsTrain employees on GMP, hygiene, food safety and product-quality requirementsWork with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Engineering and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and improve processesWhat We're Looking For1–5 years of quality experience in food manufacturing or a related high-volume manufacturing environmentWorking knowledge of GMPs, HACCP and food-safety requirementsExposure to SQF, BRC or another GFSI-recognized certification systemExperience with investigations, root-cause analysis and CAPAFamiliarity with audits, quality documentation and Quality Management SystemsBachelor's degree in food science, food technology, chemistry, biology, engineering or a related field preferredASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification preferred but not requiredExperience with packaging lines, sanitation processes or bakery manufacturing is helpfulConversational Spanish is helpful but not requiredCompensationTarget salary of $85,000–$100,000, with flexibility for a particularly strong candidate6% discretionary bonus
