Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in a 12-bed Neuro/Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit (NT/SICU) located in Chico, California. This Level II trauma center unit specializes in the care of critically ill neuro/trauma patients, maintaining a 2:1 patient ratio to ensure high-quality, individualized care.

The ideal candidate will possess advanced critical care skills, including the management of patients with Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitors, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), and lumbar drains. This role requires adaptability, as floating to other critical care units such as the Cardiovascular Unit, Telemetry Care Unit, ICU/CCU, or Medical-Surgical units may be required based on hospital needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neuro/trauma patients within a 2:1 patient ratio.
• Manage and monitor patients with Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitors, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), and lumbar drains.
• Accurately document patient care, assessments, and interventions using the EPIC electronic health record system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Safely float to other critical care units (Cardiovascular Unit, Telemetry Care Unit, ICU/CCU) or Medical-Surgical units as required by hospital needs.
• Respond effectively to emergent situations and provide advanced life support.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of acute critical care experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of Level II trauma critical care experience.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Previous travel nursing experience.
