Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 3x12-hour shifts) | 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving a diverse patient population including GI conditions, blood loss and anemia, infections, renal conditions, post-surgical GI patients, and cardiac monitoring patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms for patients in designated telemetry beds

• Maintain patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:6, with the understanding that ratios may reach 1:7 based on staffing needs
• Utilize unit systems including PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR for documentation and patient management
• Float to other Medical Surgical units or floors as needed
• Work every other weekend as required by the unit

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
• Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required; this unit will not accept first-time travelers
• Demonstrated IV start skills
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Telemetry experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with high-acuity, fast-paced Medical Surgical environments with high patient turnover
