Job Description Job Description Seasonal Production Assistant Poor Richard’s Press — San Luis Obispo, CA $20/hour | 20–25 hours per week | Seasonal About the Opportunity Poor Richard’s Press is looking for a motivated, dependable and capable person to join our production team for our busy fall and holiday season. We are a fast-paced commercial printing and manufacturing company in San Luis Obispo producing everything from traditional printed materials and direct mail to apparel, embroidery, signage, promotional products and custom merchandise. Our busiest months of the year are ahead of us, and we’re looking for an additional person who can jump in, learn quickly and help our team keep things moving. This is not a position where you'll be doing the exact same task every day. One day you may be helping finish a large print project, the next you could be preparing apparel orders, receiving and organizing incoming products, packing completed jobs or helping another department meet a deadline. If you enjoy working with your hands, staying busy and being part of a team that produces tangible products every day, you may really enjoy this position. What You'll Be Doing Depending on the day and our production needs, responsibilities may include: Assisting with print and apparel production Basic print finishing, assembly and packaging Preparing garments and materials for production Sorting, counting and organizing incoming merchandise Receiving and matching products to active jobs Packing and preparing completed orders Quality checking finished products Moving materials and jobs between departments Keeping production and work areas organized Helping different departments as production demands change Learning additional equipment and production processes as appropriate Who We're Looking For Print industry experience is NOT required. We would rather hire a great person and teach them what they need to know. The right person for this position is: Dependable and punctual Motivated and willing to work A quick learner Detail-oriented Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Able to follow written and verbal instructions Comfortable moving between different tasks throughout the day Someone who sees something that needs to be done and is willing to jump in Able to work independently once trained Positive and easy to work with Comfortable being on their feet and performing hands-on production work Above all, we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to contribute to the team. Schedule Approximately 20–25 hours per week , Monday through Friday. We have flexibility in how those hours are structured. This could potentially be three longer shifts per week, five shorter shifts, or another weekday schedule that works well for both the employee and our production needs. We're more interested in finding the right person than forcing the right person into an unnecessarily rigid schedule. Compensation $20.00 per hour This position is expected to run through the end of December 2026. While this is being hired as a seasonal position, there may be an opportunity for continued employment beyond the end of the year for an exceptional employee and depending on the needs of the company.
