Overview


A senior-level Data Scientist to lead the design, development, and implementation of data science research projects with a focus on production-grade AI/ML systems, post-market surveillance, and cross-functional collaboration. This role operates with minimal direction and is viewed as a subject matter expert.


Key Responsibilities

• Build and operate production RAG and LLM systems, with ownership of retrieval quality, orchestration, cost, and observability
• Develop custom data models, algorithms, and predictive models to optimize product development, clinical marketing, and business outcomes
• Drive evaluation rigor in high-cardinality classification tasks where outputs feed regulatory workflows
• Mine and analyze company data to identify opportunities and drive business solutions
• Collaborate with clinical SMEs, Quality, IT/Security, and executive stakeholders to translate feedback into architecture and communicate tradeoffs
• Build analytics tools and data pipelines that deliver actionable insights into operational efficiency and business performance
• Maintain data security across national boundaries via multiple data centers and AWS regions
• Participate in IP evaluations and patent application development
• Build quality into all aspects of work in compliance with all quality requirements

Qualifications

• 9+ years with BS / 6+ years with MS
• Proven track record shipping and operating production RAG and LLM systems (not prototype/notebook work)
• Experience with evaluation methodologies in messy, high-cardinality classification - thinking in SME agreement and error analysis, not just holdout accuracy
• Fluency working across clinical, quality, and technical teams in a regulated environment
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and vector databases on AWS/Azure
