Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk to support daily outbound shipping operations. This position is responsible for packaging, preparing, documenting, and processing finished products for shipment according to company, customer, and carrier requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience preparing freight for shipment, palletizing products, completing shipping documentation, working with carrier requirements, and ensuring outbound orders are packaged and labeled accurately.

Responsibilities

• Package and process outbound products according to company, carrier, and customer delivery requirements.
• Prepare finished products and components for shipment.
• Verify outgoing products against work orders, packing lists, and shipping documentation.
• Package, wrap, crate, and secure products appropriately for transportation.
• Palletize products according to size, weight, customer, and carrier requirements.
• Prepare bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and other required documentation.
• Accurately enter and process shipment information within ERP and shipping systems.
• Coordinate outbound shipments with freight carriers, LTL providers, parcel services, and other transportation providers.
• Ensure shipments meet customer-specific packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements.
• Stage completed shipments in designated outbound areas for carrier pickup.
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move, stage, and load outbound materials.
• Operate an overhead crane when necessary to safely handle larger products.
• Inspect packaged shipments to ensure products are properly protected and secured before leaving the facility.
• Identify and communicate shipping discrepancies, damaged products, or documentation issues to management.
• Maintain an organized and clean shipping and staging area.
• Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous shipping, warehouse, or outbound logistics experience required.
• Experience packaging and palletizing products for outbound shipment strongly preferred.
• Forklift experience required.
• Experience preparing shipping documents, packing slips, labels, and bills of lading preferred.
• Familiarity with freight, LTL, and parcel carrier shipping processes is a plus.
• Comfortable using computers, ERP systems, shipping software, and scanners.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow customer-specific packaging and shipping instructions.
• Good communication skills with management, production, and transportation providers.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand and work on your feet for 8-9 hours per day.
• Overhead crane experience is a plus.
