This Position is located in Santa Fe Springs. May require local travel to other Locations.

The Quality Engineer ensures that the organizational processes – and the goods and services that result - comply with the requirements of standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9100, NADCAP), as well as customer, regulatory, and the organization’s own requirements. Maintain Quality Management System (QMS) activities to ensure compliance. Interprets blueprints, industry standards, and customer requirements to design and develop processes and other supplementary processing data. Performs other administrative support functions as needed.

Essential Functions
Coordinate quality activities based on customer, company, and quality specification requirements. Irrespective of other responsibilities, shall have responsibility and authority that includes:

• Plan and evaluate production processes for compliance with quality requirements.
• Lead the company’s problem-solving efforts solving escapes, internal scrap, and rework.
• Be the primary point person on all quality-related issues with external parties.
• Drive CARs (if applicable) with suppliers as needed.
• Assist in development of audit plans and audit schedules.
• Participate in quality audits.
• Identify processes, situations, etc., where organizations are meeting requirements, as well as identify opportunities for improvement.
• May be required to develop internal auditing/parameters.
• Supervise and lead the inspection department

Procedures and Responsibilities

Must be able to perform quality representative responsibilities, review the quality system for specification requirements, and flow those requirements into in-house quality requirements. Report directly to Site Lead.

Peripheral Duties

1. Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.
2. Assist in formulating strategic plans.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to loud noises, unique smells, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts and other dangers associated with manufacturing (cutting, deburring, etc.). GBC has safety equipment and safety standards in place to help maintain a safe work environment.

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Overtime may be required on an as needed basis.

Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirement:

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum 4 years’ related experience.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Ability to drive a project to completion, including production planning, work instructions, and process development.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations to solve problems utilizing knowledge of algebraic and geometric principles.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to learn new skills and software applications.
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical inspection and measurement equipment.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.

• Salary range is annually $65k-$80k. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
