Systems Engineer (Guidance, Navigation & Control) Location: Niceville, FL; Tucson, AZ; Phoenix, AZ Employment Type: Full‑time, On‑site (Contract) Compensation: Competitive; $45.00–$84.00 per hour Position Overview We are seeking a Systems Engineer with experience in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) to support the design, development, and integration of advanced aerospace and defense systems. This role focuses on translating high‑level requirements into actionable system designs, supporting full‑lifecycle engineering activities, and ensuring system performance in real‑world environments. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of complex systems to meet performance and mission requirements. Translate high‑level requirements into detailed system and subsystem specifications. Conduct functional analysis, trade studies, and define system interfaces. Support system integration, testing, verification, and validation activities. Troubleshoot and resolve system‑level issues across multidisciplinary teams. Participate in and lead technical reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and other lifecycle gates). Identify technical risks and assess potential cost and schedule impacts. Ensure system compliance with applicable engineering and defense standards. Provide onsite support for integration and test events, including periodic travel as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor‑degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM discipline. 3+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or related technical environments. Experience with GNC concepts, including control systems, guidance algorithms, or trajectory optimization. Working knowledge of aerodynamics fundamentals. Experience managing requirements throughout the full system lifecycle. Hands‑on experience with system integration, test, verification, and validation. Ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional engineering teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation experience. U.S. Citizenship with eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Ability to work onsite full‑time during standard business hours. Preferred Skills & Experience Experience with GPS/GNSS systems and navigation system integration. Knowledge of RF systems, antenna placement, and receiver integration. Familiarity with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo). Background in configuration management and system documentation best practices. Experience working in agile environments or on rapid prototyping efforts.
