Paralegal

Paralegal Position

Actively seeking a paralegal with at least three years of experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing form/draft discovery requests, responses, and supplements and expert designations
  • Preparing simple pleadings (proposed orders, scheduling orders, etc.)
  • Preparing notices to produce
  • Preparing notices of deposition
  • Preparing records subpoenas and following up
  • Preparing authorization to secure records and following up
  • Preparing certified mailings of discovery/pleadings
  • Reviewing depositions at attorney's request
  • Reviewing and summarizing employment records
  • Reviewing and summarizing medical records
  • Preparing trial notebooks
  • Interviewing witnesses and maintaining relationships to ensure appearance and cooperation at trial
  • Working with insured/client to respond to written discovery
  • Working with experts during entire case and maintaining records of what has been sent to or received from experts
  • Updating "records log"
  • Instructing file clerk to prepare deposition/mediation notebooks
  • Instructing file clerk to download employment/medical records when received
  • Entering own time in billing system
  • Saving own e-mails in file system
  • Other duties as assigned by attorneys, executive director, and/or human resources manager

Qualifications include:

  • Three or more years of experience
  • Billing experience
  • Paralegal certification
