Certified Public Accountant

We are seeking an experienced tax professional to become an important part of a growing local public accounting firm serving Eastern Iowa communities. The right candidate will have the opportunity to develop direct client relationships, take on increasing responsibility, mentor less-experienced staff, and participate in the continued growth of the firm. Position Responsibilities Responsibilities Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, S corporations, partnerships, trusts, and other entities. Provide tax planning and advisory services to individuals and businesses. Perform tax research and analysis and communicate recommendations to clients. Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships. Prepare financial statements and other financial information for business clients. Prepare financial projections and assist clients with business planning. Assist clients with accounting and QuickBooks-related questions and issues. Represent clients before federal and state taxing authorities when necessary. Review work prepared by less-experienced staff and provide guidance and feedback. Mentor and help develop junior accountants. Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines, particularly during tax season. Identify opportunities to provide additional services and add value to client relationships. Participate in the continued development and growth of the firm. Qualifications We are seeking an experienced tax professional who can work independently while also being a collaborative member of the team. Preferred Qualifications Include 3-5+ years of public accounting and tax preparation experience. CPA, EA, or significant progress toward obtaining a CPA or EA designation. Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations. Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns. Experience with tax planning and research. Strong accounting and financial statement knowledge. Proficiency with tax preparation software, Microsoft Excel, and QuickBooks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines. Ability to work independently and take ownership of client assignments. Professional demeanor and a commitment to providing excellent client service. Willingness to mentor and develop less-experienced team members.
