Job Summary

The Sr. Civil/Structural Designer is responsible for performing civil/structural design and for managing and guiding designers in the creation of detailed civil and structural designs. The role involves coordination with project members, engineers, and clients to deliver high-quality and cost-effective solutions.

Job Description

• Develop and review 2D/3D models and detailed drawings using civil/structural design tools and software
• Lead the development of civil and structural design plans and details
• Ensure that all design work complies with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements
• Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to align design efforts with project scope and schedule
• Supervise and mentor junior designers and drafters
• Perform site visits to ensure the accuracy of design implementations
• Manage time effectively to balance multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines without compromising quality

Skills Required

• Experience:
  • Civil design, including grading, drainage, containment, sumps, underground (UG) sewers, plant roads, and railroads
  • Steel design, including process structures, skids, pipe racks, pipe bridges, pipe supports, and platforms
  • Concrete/foundation design, including spread footings, mats, drilled shafts, piles, pump foundations, and equipment foundations

• Minimum of 15–20 years of experience in civil/structural design
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, CADWorx, Navisworks, and ReCap/scanning
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
• Adobe and Bluebeam
• Project scope development and estimating
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail

Education/Training/Certifications

• Hig h School Degree or Higher
