Senior Professional, Mechanical Engineering

This OpportunityProvides technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, design, development, building, testing, and inspecting of mechanical systems on infrastructure, building, and construction projects in the public and private sector. Responsibilities include the research, design, concept development, planning, installation, operation, maintenance, and optimal integration of automatic temperature control, air distribution, hydronic, and plumbing systems, equipment and processes. Substantiates reports and documentation regarding installation, construction, and operation specifications. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality.Your ImpactPrepare basic deliverables and products including calculations, drawings, and specificationsSet deadlines and assigns responsibilitiesExamine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projectsDesign mechanical systems including calculations of heating and cooling loads while adhering to the firm’s QA/QC processSelect and layout mechanical equipment such as pumps, chiller, fans and boilersDevelop project specificationsAttend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future and or current projectsResponsible for meeting the client’s project goals and objectivesAssist in business development by pursuing new work including participation in client presentationsAssist in the firm’s human resource efforts through training and mentoring junior firm membersEnhances the firm’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing internal and external client requestsDemonstrates core values and serves as a role model/mentor to all firm membersUpdates job knowledge and technical expertise by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in technical organizations and obtaining certifications in area of expertise and participating in the firm’s Technical Committee as requestedPerform other duties as assignedWho You AreRequired QualificationsBBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.5 to 7 years of relevant post education experience in engineering and prior buildings mechanical design experience.Engineer in Training Certification.Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standardsStrong organizational, prioritization, decision making and analytical skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong influencing and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and in a highly collaborative team environmentAbility to consistently set goals and meet deadlines and adapt to flexible responsibilitiesProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Experience with Horizon or Project Resource Management software is preferredAbility to meet and exceed client expectationsPreferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Engineering.Essential Professional Licensure/Certification.Experience managing small to mid-size projects.40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.#LI-LB1About WSPWSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
