Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a rotating day/night contract requiring at least 2 years of current acute care experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Mixed acuity Med/Surg Tele unit combining PCU and MS patients
• Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period with no guaranteed consistency
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, and OCN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with current acute care experience in the specialty within the last 12 months
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skills required include IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy care/management
• Additional preferred skills include chemotherapy administration and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or director and no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to learn and grow nursing practice valued; previous travel experience preferred but not required
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
