Position Summary The Staff Nurse (RN) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Shift PRN Job Duties / Responsibilities Ensure all staff members deliver care in accordance with the Standards of Care and Practice. Make assignments that reflect staff competence and patient needs, ensuring the assignment sheet is filled out every shift. Implement hospital policies and procedures and act as a resource to the staff. Ensure compliance with the Joint Commission, state and regulatory standards, and patient rights standards. Ensure Infection Control, Safety and Risk Management policies and procedures are consistently implemented. Minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred. Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications; CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care and Verbal De‑escalation (including restraint and seclusion) policies within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
