Senior Field Engineer

Expected salary range for this position is $95,000 – $130,000 depending upon experience. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future. Rudolph & Sltten, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking to hire a Senior Field Engineer to join our office in Los Angeles or Irvine, CA. Responsibilities Demonstrates understanding of standard concepts, practices and procedures within construction field. Interprets designs and drawings for crafts installing materials and qualifications. Understands necessary control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials or equipment. Reviews submittals against specifications and reviews mock‑ups, shop drawings and specifications. Understands subcontractor job specifications and scope of work; coordinates with subcontractors and suppliers. Manages review and maintenance of subcontractor non‑compliance and coordinates with QA/QC. Verifies that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications. Researches and resolves drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference and errors. Researches and proposes solutions to quality control issues. Creates and processes RFIs, prepares field design change requisitions and “as‑built” drawings, as required. Demonstrates schedule understanding in coordination with construction logistics and sequencing. Prepares and disseminates all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists, sketches, material requirement calculations, etc., to supervisor. Understands company’s quality control plan and takes weekly photos to document any quality control issues. Reviews and comments on viability of design as required and conducts value engineering functions. Aware of target vs. actual productivity on self‑performed work; sensitive to environmental issues and their management. Helps create a safe work site and identifies job hazards to reduce danger; participates in safety inspections and ensures compliance with OSHA regulations. Participates in job walks, documents and reports findings, understands PCO process and minimal ability in identifying PCO/change orders. Performs quantity takeoffs; understands impacts of project performance on insurance and bond. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor. Prioritizes and manages multiple projects; demonstrates good written and oral communication and team skills. Works independently after receiving direction and learns quickly; analyzes and resolves construction process problems and communicates with all levels of personnel. Depends on instructions and pre‑established guidelines; demonstrates dependable, consistent, diligent and thorough performance; exercises creativity and resourcefulness in completing tasks accurately in a compressed timeframe. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or four years’ experience in the construction management field of work. Minimum five (5) years of experience as an entry level Project Engineer working on projects in the field. Experience with large commercial projects; healthcare, higher education, corporate campuses, justice, science and technology is desired. Ability to communicate well with multiple levels of personnel; manage multiple demands simultaneously. Works well at project sites in the field environment; knowledge of plan reading required. Intermediate knowledge of Windows Operating Systems; Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. Knowledge of AutoCAD product line. Knowledge of scheduling, estimating and cost software.
