We are seeking interns to join the Engagement Optimization Group to conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis to identify defensive systems gaps and develop groundbreaking system concepts to improve United States integrated air and missile defensive capabilities. Your primary responsibility will be contributing to the development and assessment of Missile Defense systems. You will work with a team to model, analyze, and assess fielded systems and identify opportunities for improvement, propose and develop innovative concepts and algorithms to improve capabilities, and conduct analysis to assess potential future systems performance. Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you... Are pursuing a Bachelor's or graduate degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science and have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Can effectively communicate complex technical concepts, buth verbally and in writing. Have experience programming in MATLAB, Python, C++, or another high-level language. Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Have previous experience working for the Department of Defense (DoD), DoD contractors, or similar organizations. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked.
