Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine in the UC Davis School of Medicine provide care to adult and pediatric patients with a variety of perioperative needs. Patient conditions include, but not limited to: ER, USC, SDSC, OR, PACU, OB, GI Lab, Pain Center, MRI, Burn unit and all ICUs. This position functions as an experienced provider of anesthetic services and airway management under the general direction of medical faculty. Requires one year or more experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Provides anesthesia for patients to include the more complicated/difficult patients of all ages.

Role of Position: Provides direct patient care to a diversified patient population. Applies knowledge, experience and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and use abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations. Participates in patient and staff education. Demonstrates leadership skills. Demonstrates accountability for own practices as defined the Nurse Practice Act.

• Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) without restriction
• Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction
• American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR
• Current California RN license, in process, or the ability to obtain California RN license by the time of hire
• Current CRNA license, with the ability to obtain a California CRNA license and proof of application (receipt or cancelled check) to be licensed as a California Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the time of hire
• Must be a graduate of an accredited CRNA Masters or Doctoral Program by the time of hire
• Experience with high acuity cases is a must.
