Med Surg/Peds Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Med Surg/Peds Registered Nurse (RN) for a nursing position with a focus on delivering quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient safety and a collaborative approach to working with the healthcare team.Position DetailsShift: Nights (self-scheduling) + weekends as neededShift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekPatient Ratios: Days: 1:4, Nights: 1:5Number of Beds: 17 total (14 inpatient, 3 observation)ResponsibilitiesProvide nursing care for both adult and pediatric patients with conditions such as UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD.Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including on-call pediatricians for pediatric patients.Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting respiratory therapy equipment, primarily BiPap.Documentation of patient care and adherence to hospital protocols.Participation in floating to ED/ICU for 1:1 patient assignments as needed.QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar nursing role.Certifications: Current BLS and PALS certifications required.Skills: Strong communication, motivation, approachability, and teamwork skills are essential.Operational NotesNo clinical involvement in titrating drips; basic support for electrolyte, hypertensive medications, and occasional diuretics.Charge Nurse present on each shift, taking on patient assignments.Nurse aids available: 2 on days, 1 on nights.Self-scheduling options available with flexible weekend requirements.Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs.OrientationOrientation consists of one 12-hour shift, with additional sessions if necessary based on the individual's experience and competency.To succeed in this role, the candidate must possess a strong aptitude for collaboration, effective communication, and a proactive attitude toward patient care.
