Assignment Details

• Hospital Size: 228 beds

Compensation: Hourly Rate: $2805 per 24 hours, Holiday: $4210 per 24 hours, 24-Hour Call: $2805 per 24 hours, Call Back: $350/hr.

Schedule

• 24-hour call coverage, generally 7:00 AM-7:00 AM

• Beginning January 2027, ongoing coverage is approximately 1 weekend per month

• Ongoing weekend coverage generally begins Thursday at 4:00 PM and continues through Monday at 7:00 AM

• Provider must be comfortable with weekday 24-hour coverage when scheduled

• October 19-21, ending October 22 at 7:00 AM

• November 1, ending November 2 at 7:00 AM

• November 25-30, ending December 1 at 7:00 AM

• December 7-9, ending December 10 at 7:00 AM

• December 11-13, ending December 14 at 7:00 AM

• December 17-30, ending December 31 at 7:00 AM

Patient Population

• Adults ages 18+

• Patient volume varies because patients are not scheduled

• Busy hospital-based Urology service supporting surrounding regional facilities

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour Urology call coverage

• Respond to inpatient and emergency department Urology consultations

• Morning inpatient rounding as required

• Provide emergency surgical intervention when clinically necessary

• Round on patients who remain hospitalized following procedures performed by the locum physician

• Consult with emergency department and other providers regarding Urologic concerns

• Work with available inpatient Urology support

Procedures / Clinical Scope

• Cystoscopy as needed

• Ureteral stent placement for hematuria when indicated

• Kidney stone treatment

• Stone extraction

• Holmium laser lithotripsy

• Management of testicular torsion when encountered

• UTI-related Urologic care

• Foley catheter placement consultation

• Emergency Urologic procedures and surgery as needed

Support Staff

• Urology PA

• Inpatient support available

Requirements

• Board Certification required

• Pennsylvania medical license required

• IMLC candidates accepted

• DEA required

• ACLS required

• CSR not required

• 1-2 years of experience preferred

• Must be comfortable providing 24-hour call coverage

• Must be comfortable with inpatient rounding and emergency Urologic surgery

• Name clear typically takes approximately 24-48 hours

• Willing to license through IMLC

Travel

• Travel provided

• Airfare, rental car, and lodging covered

• Pittsburgh is the recommended airport, followed by approximately a 2-hour drive to the assignment location
