Production Cook

Job PostingHeritage Pointe of Huntington is looking to add a full time cook to our team. Team member will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for residents in accordance with established menus, recipes, dietary requirements, and food safety standards. Ensuring meals are prepared accurately, safely, and on time while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. This is a full time position which will require flexible hours and coverage on holidays and every other weekend.Essential Duties:Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and resident dietary needs.Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.Ensure food is prepared and served at the proper temperature and on schedule.Assist with meal preparation, portioning, serving, and special diet requests.Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and work area.Properly store food and monitor food quality and expiration dates.Follow all facility policies, procedures, and applicable health regulations.Work cooperatively with dietary and nursing staff to meet resident needs.Maintain awareness of applicable state regulations and long-term care food service requirements.Maintain kitchen and food service practices in a manner that supports compliance with state and federal regulations and readiness for regulatory surveys.Qualifications:Previous cooking experience required; long-term care, healthcare, or institutional food service experience preferred.Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to food service in a long-term care setting preferred.Experience working in a regulated healthcare or long-term care environment and familiarity with regulatory survey expectations preferred.Ability to follow recipes, menus, dietary instructions, and food safety standards.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Must demonstrate dependable attendance and a commitment to resident-centered service.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
