Supplier Quality Engineer

Supplier Quality EngineerAmphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, AZ.The Supplier Quality Engineer will support quality engineering responsibilities relative to sub-tier suppliers. The primary focus of the role is to identify, resolve, and eliminate quality issues deriving from the supply base.The key responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer include, but are not limited to:Supplier Quality Metrics: Scrap, NCMR's, SCAR's, & Scorecard Mgmt.Manage critical-to-business suppliers' quality performance metricsQIP (Quality Improvement Plans), ZDM (Zero Defect Mission), & QBR's (Quarterly Business Reviews)Develop and maintain strong working relationships with technical supplier counterpartsCoordinate and oversee supplier quality recovery plans relative to nonconforming material escapesTechnical internal problem-solving support to issues determined to come from external processingOrganize supplier on-site audits and assessments (ISO9001 & AS9100)Location:Mesa, AZ25 minutes from Phoenix, AZThe Person:The key skills and qualities of a Supplier Quality Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or equivalent engineering practicesMinimum of 3 years' production or manufacturing technical experience preferredStrong communication skills required (written and verbal)Preferred skill set in manufacturing practices: CNC machining, molding, plating and assembly operationsGD&T knowledge and practice requiredLean Six Sigma experience preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office, Minitab, and Data3/AS400 MRP SystemTravel requirement: up to 50%, may include international locations Some travel may be at a day's notice as business critical issues arise on occasion, most travel will be scheduledStandard physical requirements in office setting, extended periods of sitting and standing with minimal liftingThe Company:With manufacturing sites in Sidney, NY, Mesa, AZ, Nogales, MX, and a Design Center in Pasadena, CA, Amphenol Aerospace Operations has been a leader in designing and manufacturing electrical components for the aviation and commercial airplane industry for over 100 years.Focusing on serving the needs of advanced and challenging market segments, we pride ourselves on our consistent ability to innovate and provide the markets with new creative solutions.Working at Amphenol means you are recognized and valued for your contributions because we believe that our human capital is the most valuable asset we have.
