Hematology/Oncology Physician

Jackson and Coker is seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in New Mexico, starting as soon as credentialed and continuing for 12 months. This role involves a mix of benign hematology and oncology, providing both hospital consults and outpatient clinic coverage. The position offers a consistent schedule with minimal call-backs, supported by a team of oncologists and nurse practitioners. Practice Info Bread and butter oncology, with a split of benign hematology (60% hematology, 40% oncology) Hospital consults and outpatient clinic coverage Daily volume: 15-18 appointments, mainly follow-ups, typically 2-3 new patient appointments Support staff includes 6 FT oncologists and 6 NPs Responsibilities Provide hospital consults Provide outpatient clinic coverage Manage benign hematology cases Manage oncology cases Provide 24-hour weekend call coverage (beeper) Compensation Weekly Direct Deposit Top Rated Malpractice Insurance In-House Travel Agency Shift & Schedule Starting as soon as credentialed, ongoing for 12 months Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5pm Required xmvmafu to offer 3-4 weeks per month Will accept 3-5 days per week Call coverage: 24-hour weekend call coverage - 1 weekend per month (beeper) Minimal call backs - 2 to 3 per 24 hour period Requirements Active New Mexico licensure is preferred Board Certification required 3+ years of post training experience practicing medical oncology is preferred
