Ector County Independent School District CUSTODIAL OPERATIONS - ODESSA, Texas (Open in Google Maps) ASSISTANT HEAD CUSTODIAN 2026-2027 This job is also posted in Ector County ISD Job Details Position Type: Full-Time Salary: $16.25 to $22.67 per Hour Days: 2, 4, 7 Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Job Title: Assistant Head Custodian Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Reports to: Head Custodian Pay Grade: 4 Dept. /School: Facilities Primary Purpose: To provide a safe, clean, attractive and efficiently maintained building for students and teachers to learn and develop scholastically. Qualifications: Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned responsibilities. 2 to 5 years’ experience as a custodian. Citizenship, residency or work visa required. Reports to: Custodial Foreman. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Directs and oversees responsibilities for other custodians. Has responsibility for opening and closing the building, controlling the temperature in the building, and for the general cleanliness of the building. Instruct custodial staff in the use of equipment, chemicals, and materials. Responsible for training their building custodial staff. Assist in developing work and time schedules for custodians. Assume responsibility for care and condition of equipment. Assume responsibility for ordering and maintaining an inventory of custodian and housekeeping supplies and materials if head custodian is not available. Perform inspections of building conditions and report to the principal or supervisor. Assume responsibility for directing minor building repairs – (mechanical, electrical, carpentry or other). Responsible for cleaning a portion of the building, the same as a regular custodian. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
