TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time; 10-Months plus 20 Days; Probationary


START DATE: July 01, 2026

SALARY RANGE: $53,350 - $86,508 per school year (or higher based on contract)
*Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.

DESCRIPTION: As a member of the NYSED Office of Special Education Educational Partnership, specialists will provide regional trainings, targeted support, and technical assistance to Educational Organizations (school districts and 4410 preschool providers), families, and community partners identified through the regional planning process that supports students with disabilities ages birth-5. This position does not include direct service to students. For more information on the Educational Partnership visit:


DUTIES:
1. Provide professional development and support to Educational Organizations, families, 4410 preschool programs and community partners throughout the Greater Rochester region related to the preschool special education process.


2. Provide targeted professional development and technical assistance to groups around a common topic.

3. Provide technical assistance and support to identified early childhood programs that support students with disabilities or public-school districts.


4. Work collaboratively with all members of the Educational Partnership to carry out the regional workplan to improve outcomes for students with disabilities in a coordinated and cohesive manner.


5. Utilize tools, training materials and processes developed by the Technical Assistance Partnership (TAPs) and approved by New York State Education Department (NYSED) to provide professional development and technical assistance to community partners in the region.


6. Participate in professional development activities as directed by FACE Center Family Engagement Facilitators and TAPs, monthly webinars, online learning opportunities and regional meetings.


7. Host and attend regularly scheduled collaborative meetings with agency staff, schools, administrators and families to develop and strengthen interagency connections.

8. Seek out and cultivate new relationships with community partners who support children/students with disabilities.


9. Identify, share and maintain regional resource information for community partners and post resources on a community resource map.


10. Regular travel across Monroe 1, Monroe 2, Wayne-Finger Lakes and Genesee Valley BOCES regions.

11. Flexible workday to occasionally accommodate school/community evening and weekend events.

12. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master's degree or higher is required. NYS Certification in special education, education, psychology, school psychology, school counseling, and/or a related field preferred

2.Experience delivering professional development is required.

3. Experience in working in the field of early childhood with families and community stakeholders is preferred.


4. Five years of experience asa teacher, school social worker, school counselor or preschool related service provider with students with disabilities preferred.


5. Knowledge of federal and state special education law, regulations and policy.

6. Knowledge of early childhood community resources and referral practices.

7. Possess and demonstrate effective communication skills.

8. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
