Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Level III Trauma, STEMI, and Stroke Receiving emergency department averaging approximately 70 patients per day
• Manage a patient assignment of 1:3–4 depending on acuity, including care for ER holds intermixed within the department
• Administer and monitor common ER drips including pressors and sedation; troubleshoot respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators
• Independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips (no monitor techs on unit); perform EKGs as needed
• Staff triage and Fast Track areas as assigned; may occasionally be asked to precept as needed by the unit
• Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (minimum score 83%) prior to contract start; three attempts permitted

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required – position is associated with an Epic conversion
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience
• Ability to commit to start dates between October 19–28; conversion begins October 30
• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility within the CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity Health system within the past year (PRN through outside staffing firms may be considered)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with pediatric emergency patients; this facility is the only area hospital that admits pediatric patients
• Familiarity with cardiac, stroke, and trauma patient populations including STEMIs and multi-system considerations
• Experience managing common ER drips including vasopressors and sedation agents
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though first-time travelers will be considered
