Job Title: Fabricator / Welder Job Description

This role focuses on operating a burn table to cut metal components used in mixing systems for the concrete industry. You will work with plasma and laser cutting equipment and support additional metal fabrication operations such as drill press and brake press work. You will contribute to producing high-quality parts in an organized and growing manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the burn table to cut metal components for mixing systems used in the concrete industry.
  • Set up and run plasma and laser cutting equipment to produce parts according to specifications.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Use CNC-controlled equipment as needed to support cutting and fabrication processes.
  • Assist with drill press operations, including drilling, tapping, and related tasks.
  • Support brake press operations to form and bend metal parts as required.
  • Operate shear equipment to cut and trim metal stock to size.
  • Monitor equipment performance and make basic adjustments to maintain cut quality.
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, and make corrections when needed.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and support workflow across different machines.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of experience operating laser and burn table plasma cutting equipment.
  • At least 2 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience with CNC equipment in a fabrication or machining environment.
  • Hands-on experience with shear, drill press, and brake press operations.
  • Ability to safely operate and troubleshoot plasma and laser cutting machines.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate cuts and quality parts.
  • Ability to follow production instructions and work from technical drawings.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work area.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • CNC experience is a strong plus.
  • Background in welding or interest in moving into welding roles is beneficial.
  • Experience in metal fabrication for industrial or manufacturing applications.
  • Ability to adapt to different machines and tasks within the shop.

Work Environment

This position is on second shift, typically running from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. You will work in a clean, organized fabrication shop equipped with burn tables, plasma and laser cutting systems, drill presses, brake presses, and shear equipment. The environment is production-focused and team-oriented, with an emphasis on safety, precision, and consistent workflow. A shift premium is available for second shift after the contract-to-hire period.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Port Washington, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
