Civil/Structural Construction Inspector

Overview HDR is an employee-owned firm delivering transportation and infrastructure projects. This role is in HDR's Transportation Business Group and focuses on civil/structural construction inspection for transportation infrastructure and buildings. Responsibilities Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for transportation infrastructure, buildings, and facilities. Inspect site civil and structural field work. Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects. Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, in-place soil compaction testing, asphalt testing, etc. Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work in progress. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor\'s Degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable combination of education and experience. Knowledge of construction inspection of major transportation/infrastructure projects for public agencies (e.g., PANYNJ, MTA, NJTA, NJDOT). Excellent organizational and communication skills. PE license in New York or New Jersey. OSHA 30-hour training. ACI Concrete Special Inspection and ICC Structural Steel and Bolting certifications. Preference given to local candidates. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Compensation: The expected range in New York, NY is $58,713 - $83,875; actual compensation depends on skills, experience, and location.
